Since 1910, the iconic Owyhee has played a vital role in the life of Downtown Boise. Beginning in the fall of 2012, LocalConstruct, in partnership with Old Boise, rebuilt this landmark property and restored its position as a community hub. With design oversight from Beebee Skidmore and TAO, the extensive renovation included the conversion of the former hotel into Boise’s first urban rental apartments, restoration of the building’s brick and sandstone façade, and a complete re-imagination of the building lobby.

The development program included partnerships with the Capital City Development Corporation, the City of Boise, and the National Park Service. The public-private collaboration sought to preserve historic features of the property while modernizing its systems for long-term future service.

The Owyhee is a true mixed-use destination with urban residences, office space, retail, restaurants, and meeting & banquet space. The property features a 7th floor penthouse banquet room with sweeping views of the Boise skyline and a ballroom that can accommodate events of up to 300 people. The office and residential tenants enjoy access to two restaurants, a lobby bar, an on-site workout facility, and various flexible public workspaces.
